The ONE Thing You Need for EVERY Hotel Stay...
One of the most exciting and daunting things about traveling with kiddos is the hotel stay. Too close of neighbors. Too close of quarters. Too many things to destroy.
While we can’t do much about hotel room tantrums echoing through walls, and Lysol/hand sanitizer are mandatory as parents, here is the one thing (besides a freshly packed Tackle Box) that I take with us on every. single. trip. for every. single. hotel stay:
Yep. That’s it. One common thing can mean difference between your sanity and, well, losing it.
Here are some of my favorite ways to childproof on-the-go!
Little ones gravitating towards the sockets? Boom. Covered.
Sharp objects like scissors or clippers are handy to have and safe out of reach.
Literally, an extra layer of security. Cover peep holes. Secure sliding doors.
My little is OBSESSED with the novelty of a real phone. But by the 200th round, this mama is done with the game.
It’s all fun and games until someone’s little fingers get caught in a drawer. Prevent the tears (or at least stall them…).
The lights. There’s always some unwanted source of light right in your eyes from a microwave or clock. No more! Street light too bright? Tape closed the curtains or tape up a spare blanket or comforter!
Other fast fixes:
Secure the air conditioner control panel flap or buttons.
Keep snacks fresh by taping the bag shut after each use.
Create a DIY baby food/milk date label.
Make an extra child-proof barrier for any twist-off lids that don’t need to be twisted while you sneak a quick shower.
BONUS: Create quick kid activities such as a toy racetrack, pretend doll pool, mini hopscotch game, or baby-friendly tape peeling activity to fill hotel room downtime!
